The Fourth Invitation Exhibition of Famous Chinese and Korean Calligraphers Opens in Beijing

“The Fourth Invitation Exhibition of Famous Chinese and Korean Calligraphers”, co-host by School of Arts, Renmin University of China, Korean Culture Center in China, the Institute of Oriental Art RUC, Korean Development and Exchange of  Oriental Culture Association in Nov.6th, opened in Korean Culture Center in China in Beijing.

Korea ambassador to China Xin Zhengcheng, president of Korean Culture Center in China Jin Yide, Korean International Calligraphy Association president Jin Rongji, Korean Calligraphy Association vice-president Wen Guanxiao, China Calligrapher Association vice president Shen Wansheng, dean of School of Arts RUC Xu Qingping, professor in philosophy school RUC Zhang Fa, China Calligraphy Association council Zhou Zhigao, chief editor of “China Calligraphy Mail” Gao Qingchun, subeditor of “ China Culture News Art Weekly”Xu Hongming, chief editor of  “China Famous Calligrapher and Painter News” Ma Beng, director of  Rongbaozhai and China Bookshop Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Studio Cui Wei, director of design planning office RUC Wang Peng, students and Korean exchange students from School of Arts, RUC, about 200 people took part in the opening ceremony chaired by Party secretary and deputy dean Zhen Xiaohua and president of Korean development and exchange of oriental culture association Wen Gonglie.

As the annual communication gathering of calligraphy circles of the two countries, this exhibition included excellent works of 82 Chinese and Korean calligraphers. The Korean calligraphers who are invited to the exhibition are Zhao Shougao, Jin Rongji, Wen Kuanxiao,etc. Chinese calligraphers to exhibition are from more than 20 provinces and cities, not only including famous calligraphers, but also including the young and middle-aged calligraphers who are active in calligraphy circles. Former vice Premiers of State Council Zeng Peiyan gave an inscription to the exhibition. 
   
In the opening ceremony, ambassador Xin Zhengcheng, president Jin Rongji, vice-president Shen Wansheng, Dean Xu Qingping delivered the speech respectively. Ambassador Xin Zhengcheng mentioned that he was very happy to see the flourishing of culture and art exchange between China and Korea, and indicated that this exhibition would expand to the communication between the Chinese and Korean calligraphy circles and make contribution to create the most favorite culture and art works for Chinese and Korean people. President Jin Rongji on the behalf of Korean calligraphers delivered a speech that he trusted it was a great chance to try to find out development direction in the future with the participation of 37 Korean calligraphers and 45 Chinese calligraphers in this exhibition, which had profound impact. Dean Xu Qingping indicated that it was the fourth invitation exhibition of famous Chinese and Korean calligrapher. The aim to hold it is to establish the platform for the academic communication between Korean and Chinese high-level calligraphers, to build a bridge for the exchange and study of the old, the middle-aged and the young Chinese and Korean calligraphers and developing relationship between them, to continue the historical friendship of Korean and Chinese culture, to make effort to the revival and transmit of oriental culture in globalization. Vice president Shen Wansheng on behalf of China Calligraphers Association delivered his congratulation to this exhibition. He praised the way to keep on bringing out new calligraphers on the basis of the participation of a certain amount of the famous calligraphers from the two countries. He hoped that the exhibition would become the bridge to communicate for the calligraphers and amateur calligraphers in different levels from the two countries. 
 
Famous Chinese and Korean Calligraphers invitation exhibition began in 2006, in order to commemorate the 15th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Korea and was held every year. This exhibition will last to Nov. 13th.
