Hongbin Wu is Associate Professor, Master's Supervisor and the Deputy Director of the Museum at Renmin University of China, as well as a Teaching Model. He holds a Ph.D. in Art Studies from the Chinese National Academy of Arts, completed his postdoctoral research in Art Studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and was a visiting scholar at Cornell University. Wu is also a member of the International Committee of the Florence Biennale, a recipient of the Lorenzo il Magnifico Award, and the curator of the first China-themed exhibition at the event. As a member of the China Artists Association, a director of the Beijing Artists Association, a member of the Chinese Society for Anthropology of Arts, and a member of the Chinese Poetry Society, Wu has made significant contributions to the field. He is also an academic committee member of the Beijing Contemporary Freehand Oil Painting Research Institute and the academic director of the Chinese Freehand Spirit oil painting sketch and creation project.

Areas of Research: art history and theory, contemporary art criticism and art management and communication.

Research Projects: Principal investigator of the National Social Science Fund Art Project "Research on the Historical Forms and Construction Issues of Chinese Art Expositions"; Sub-project leader for the National Social Science Fund Art Major Project "Research on the Development of the Chinese Art Market"; Sub-project leader of the National Social Science Fund Art Major Project "Research on Major Issues in Current Chinese Art Creation"; Leader of the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Youth Project "Twenty Years of Chinese Art Expositions (1993-2013)", along with other projects funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation and central university funds.

Papers: Published over eighty academic papers in professional journals including the Journal of Renmin University of China, Art Research, Fine Arts, Art Observation, National Art, Literary Contention, Literary Theory and Criticism, Art Review, Art Exploration, and China National Fine Arts.
